The County Maths Challenge draws teams from all over Hertfordshire and we are very proud of the achievements of the current Year 8 team (Kira B, Ben G, Holly R and Ryan W).
Six regional heats took place after school and successful teams were awarded the coveted places in the finals held at Robertson House, Stevenage on the 30th April. Fifteen teams reached the final stage. The competition was tough and the problem solving was demanding, with much of it against the clock. In addition to problem solving, teams were required to demonstrate good memory and communication skills and accurate estimation. The Ralph Sadleir team showed great determination and excellent team work. The resulting second place is a real credit to them and is the best finishing position that we, at Ralph Sadleir, have had since getting involved in this competition.
‘It was great when we realised that we had come second!’ Ryan W.
