Well that’s it week one done – hello and welcome back.
The first week brings lots of excitement and new opportunities and this week has had a real positive feel throughout the school. The boundless enthusiasm that our new year 5s bring really energises the whole school. As well as welcoming the incoming Year 5s we have also said hello (and welcome back) to new staff and plenty of pupils, I’m sure we will all pull together in true Ralphie fashion to help them feel part of the family!
Some of you may well have heard about a notable goodbye this week – the Year 7/8 lockers. Despite a last minute petition from some of the pupils my resolve held fast and I shared with them my convincing arguments for getting rid #riplockers!
Assemblies this week focused on setting new targets and finding the right path and beginning your journey to your future. Mrs McIver ended the week by sharing the story of the burkini ban in France and how people have the right to express themselves through their clothing. However this is about free time and I had to discuss school uniform with the children: shoes NOT trainers, 1 pair of plain studs, hair tied back, shirts tucked in – unless the children want to join Mr Fuller’s new lunchtime club.
There was one more notable event this week(end), our beloved Mrs Attwood celebrates a rather significant birthday – adored by all, I’m sure you will join me in wishing her many happy returns as she is rightly spoiled by the rest of team Atwood.
Have a good weekend, rest up because we have to do it all again next week!!
