“On the 13th March 2016, I traveled up to London to sing in the choir at the Royal Albert Hall. After everybody had arrived, we had to wait for half an hour before we were let in. We had to have a two hour rehearsal before the main show, in which my legs struggled to cope. As we filed in for the main show, I saw hundreds of people in the audience but I wasn’t nervous. Just before the lights faded I spotted my relatives and waved. The orchestra was great and the atmosphere was wonderful.”
“On the 13th March, Ralph Sadleir’s choir went to the Royal Albert Hall for the Hertfordshire School Gala. Hundreds of children were invited to sing or play their instruments. Before the actual event, there was a two hour rehearsal. Songs were practiced over and over, then it was time for lunch after which torches were handed out. The actual performance will stay with me my entire life. There was dancing, music, stories, art and singing. The costumes that the dancers wore were beautiful and suited to the music played by the orchestra.”
