On Tuesday the 10th of June eight Year 5 pupils went to Roger De Clare First School to teach some Year 4 pupils Maths.
One group focussed on angles; one group did symmetry; one group did fractions, decimals and percentages; and one group did long division. Florence S and Oliver K did angles and focused on acute, obtuse, reflex and right angles. All the Year 4’s liked their task.
The people who did long division were Alfie L and Sam T. They focused on dividing three-digit by two-digit numbers and also taught pupils how to estimate their answers. Jonny P and Callum B did equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages and their lesson went well. Rachel B and Dami did symmetry and the Year 4’s all enjoyed it. Overall the lessons went really well and the Year 4’s worked very hard. We really enjoyed the afternoon, but we did realise how hard it is to be a teacher!
