School Life
The form, with its own form tutor, is the basis of the school organisation and throughout the school, the form tutor is responsible for the pastoral care and welfare of the pupils in his/her own form.
Each of the Key Stages has its own experienced Pupil Phase Leader. The average size of a form is thirty. In Hertfordshire the County Middle Schools are deemed Secondary and, as such, enjoy a very favourable pupil/teacher ratio.
When pupils join the school they are placed in mixed ability classes for the majority of lessons. Generally, pupils remain in these classes for the four year course but as they progress through the school pupils will have a new form tutor at the beginning of each academic year.
