Keeping Well in Your Relationships
At Ralph Sadleir, we believe that healthy relationships are built on a bedrock of respect and kindness. We teach our students the confidence to set boundaries and the resilience to navigate social complexities, whether online or in person. By valuing the individual’s voice and promoting inclusive support for all identities, we ensure that every student feels safe and connected. We are dedicated to shaping ‘Citizens of Tomorrow’ who treat others with respect and have the determination to stand up for what is right in their community.
Gender and Identity
As children approach adolescence, they naturally begin exploring who they are. For some, this includes questioning or expressing their gender identity. Our school provides a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels respected and seen. By fostering open, non-judgmental conversations at home and in the classroom, we help students navigate these personal journeys with confidence, ensuring their wellbeing remains at the heart of their development.
Safe Communication:
As children’s social lives move increasingly online, the boundaries between physical and digital worlds can blur. Between ages 9 and 13, it’s vital to foster healthy digital habits, focusing on empathy, privacy, and respect. We teach students that their “digital footprint” matters as much as their real-world reputation. By encouraging open dialogue about screen time and “think before you post” mentalities, we help them build a positive, safe online community.
Abuse & Bullying:
Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. We take a proactive approach to preventing abuse and bullying by teaching students about healthy boundaries, digital safety, and the power of being an “upstander.” By fostering an environment where children feel brave enough to speak up, we ensure that any concerns are met with swift, sensitive action. Together, we can maintain a culture of kindness and security.
