Friday 27th June
Our links with Freman College were well used this week as our Year 8’s went for a visit on Monday and some of their (formerly our) Year 10’s came to us for their Work Experience Week. For both the feedback has been good and all involved seemed to have had a good time.
Our Year 6’s have been busy doing sport this week, Wednesday saw the High 5 netball team and the boys’ kwik cricket teams taking part in their respective county finals. Unfortunately neither won but both played superbly with the boys making the semi-finals and the net-ballers narrowly losing to the eventual winners. There is a more detailed report from Mr Morgan in a separate post. Also in sport the Year 7 cricket team came second in their match with Edwinstree, Robbie P top scoring, Lewis W taking a wicket and Emma L bowling very well.
Today was a non-uniform day where the children got to wear a country’s colours whilst making a donation to SoccerAid. Assembly this morning was certainly a colourful and creative affair – Fellaini wigs – and each tutor group was assigned a country who had made it through to the last 16, why not ask your children who their country is. The winning country will earn their tutor group a prize.
Congratulations to Lucy A (7JOB) on receiving her Diamond Merit certificate in this morning’s assembly, she certainly has been working tremendously proud and is to be congratulated on her efforts.
