Friday 19th December
And relax…..!! Well as I’m hosting 13 family members for lunch, not really!! My only present request this year is that my little boy has a longer Christmas night lie in than last year (2.30am) – Please Santa, I have been a good boy this year…honest!!
It has been a long action-packed term and everyone in school (adults and children alike) are exhausted from their efforts. This week showed no let up as there were Christmas parties and the Key Stage 3 disco – which the children enjoyed almost as much as the staff and parent governors!! The kitchen staff had sprouts coming out of their ears as they served 3 Christmas dinners. The week’s frivolities culminated with the evening and school carol performances which allowed the musical talents of the orchestra and choir to be showed in their fullest.
Finally, I will end with the words of the fine 20th Century philosopher, Shakin Stevens: Snow is falling (Must be somewhere, clear skies over Puckeridge as I type), The Ralph Sadleir (sic) Children are playing and having fun (deservedly), It’s the season of love and understanding (Children don’t pester your parents). Merry Christmas everyone.
P.S and remember…the best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.
